About Me...

I'm Lora.  I am a wife and the mom to two amazing girls... one spitfire here on earth, and one beautiful angel up in Heaven.  I'm kinda new at this grieving thing, so I'm trying to get comfortable with tears falling at any time, in any situation. That's a work in progress!

Special needs kids?  I'm pretty well-versed in that too, with 13 years of experience.  I am pretty resourceful in that world, and still trying to use my experience to help others navigate the waters in that world as I straddle the world of the grieving mom.

Honestly, I don't know much about doing things the conventional or "normal" way, as I've never had the experiences to lead me in that direction.  What is normal anyway?

I am a self-admitted mess a lot of the times... but I TRY to pull it together and appear organzied and confident most of the time.  The truth is that I've become more comfortable with myself as I age!  I am a bit fiery at times... but always well-intentioned.

I love my husband!  I love my girls!  The beach is my favorite place to relax and vacation!  Cooking and baking really relax me when I have time to devote to them!  I totally LOVE essential oils... cleaning and cooking with them, using them for natural healthcare, mood and anything else I discover.  I try to live a fairly natural lifestyle for the benefit of me and my family... but still enjoy some of the comforts of processed food, refined sugar and a good glass (or three) of Chardonnay.

I am blessed to have the most amazing group of girlfriends.  We have made many of our beautiful and difficult journeys side-by-side, and will continue to do so throughout our lives.  They are my Soul Sisters.

I'm trying to find new passions as I slowly emerge from the shock of losing my eldest daughter who had special needs... CP, epilepsy, GI issues, Cortical Visual Impairment, and an alphabet of other impairments.  She was the light of my life and the keeper of much of my time, energy and secrets.  So bear with me as I try to discover who I am without her... and as I try to do it all with JOY!
